The ultra chair consists of a fabrication method borrowed from the automotive manufacturing and Audi collaboration. Audi’s ultra lightweight design has strict guidelines to get rid of every possible excess weight whilst creating load scenarios through sensors and physics simulation software.
The key material used in aluminium; the legs are folded sheet aluminium welded by and industrial robot using a cold metal transfer process; the seat shell is made up of carbon composite materials – carbon micro-sandwich, carbon rubber extrapolated directly from components of the racecar = a total of 2.2kg piece of furniture
